Job Description:

Receives telephone and personal callers; screens and refers them appropriately; personally
solves programmatic/procedural problems or answers questions that require substantial
knowledge. Maintains control of correspondence, reports and documents through reminder
systems; maintains and modifies filing system. Operates computerized systems to compile, type,
revise, combine, edit, print and store correspondence, reports records, and other documents.
Handles requests from members of the public, either in person or by phone; handles incoming
calls and correspondence and/or forwards to proper person or office. Prepares requisitions,
purchase orders, receipts and maintains files and records. Acts as credit card holder and liaison
for making purchases; maintains Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). Plans, organizes,
develops and implements administrative/clerical procedures for an office, department or unit.
Maintains inventory of office supplies and forms; reviews requisitions and bills to ensure
compliance with budget limitations. Answers routine and non-routine correspondence.
Researches, compiles, writes, and types correspondence, reports, and other record keeping
requirements. Operates and maintains office equipment. Maintains records of all equipment and
vehicles as assigned to unit, including sales and transfers of equipment; inputs mileage into
computer per daily trip logs. Performs a variety of administrative support and advanced office
duties. Acts as Adopt A Highway coordinator.
