Assists with evaluating, processing, and inspecting of work covered under Encroachment Permits. Enters and retrieves encroachment permits and data in the electronic permit processing system. Proof reads encroachment permits sent in by public, government agencies, utilities, and contacts them for corrections and additional information. Investigates illegal right of way encroachments and assists in getting them removed from the right of way by making site visits and sending out correspondence. Researches right of way property data. Investigates permits involving work in progress within SCDOT rights and ensures work is done per SCDOT standards. Assists in preparing moderately complex drawings and tracings. Assists with maintaining drawings and encroachment permits. Performs other related job duties as requested by RME and/or ARME or assigned by supervisor.
