Requirements:

Responsibilities

This position is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the plant.  This includes, but is not limited to:

Performance of routine plant inspection rounds

Lubrication, vibration monitoring, and troubleshooting plant equipment

Monitoring unit conditions during startup and shutdown

Assists Supervisor by isolating and tagging equipment for maintenance using established Lockout and Tagout procedures

Preparing equipment for return to operation

Qualifications

Minimum requirements for this position include a High School diploma accredited by an organization that is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or one of the entities recognized by the U. S. Dept. of Education or GED and at least one year of related work experience in operating, monitoring, and inspecting various plant equipment such as motors, pumps, fans, compressors and valves

A valid SC driver's license is also required

Applicants must also have good analytical and interpersonal skills

 

Other Information

The successful candidate will be mechanically and electrically inclined

The ability to understand and troubleshoot complex operating systems and controls

The ability to evaluate and determine when corrective work orders should be written

Capable of making good decisions during emergency or abnormal conditions

The ability to work rotating shifts to include holidays, scheduled and unscheduled overtime, and during inclement weather

Heavy lifting and climbing required so applicants must be in good physical condition in order to perform work duties safely

Applicant will be expected to qualify as part of station fire brigade, hazmat team and first responder
