Card Leadman

Responsible for the productivity, quality, and safety for the entire Carding Department and directs all plant operations within company policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the productivity, quality, and safety of the Carding Department.

Directs all Plant operations within company policies and procedures.

Provide training for new and existing machine operators.

Responsible for each machine set-up to ensure high quality standard.

Perform shift quality audits as instructed by supervision to ensure machines are set-up correctly, maximizing productivity, and providing feedback for deficiencies.

Take part in cleanings, changeovers, breakdowns, and maintenance of carding equipment.

Maintain, coordinate and foster clean safe work environment, and safety system. Follow-up and assist operators in housekeeping duties to ensure a clean and safe work environment.

Promote morale in the department. Must show and demonstrate a high quality work ethic.

Assist in the planning of work orders through the carding department and update the schedule board as orders are produced.

Responsible for filling in as Supervisor during weekends, holidays and vacations.
Provide feedback to Supervisor as to shortcomings and problems that exist in the department regarding labor, material and equipment.

Fill in to relieve operators on breaks, vacations, and when operators are absent.

Assist in the development of new products and establishing Set-Up Sheets for new and existing products.

Follow-up on operators to ensure quality checks, documentation, and production reports are completed promptly and correctly.

Assist and perform any other job duties as instructed by Supervisor.

Assist Maintenance Staff in the repair and trouble-shooting of equipment.

Relieves production operators for breaks and is able and competent to assist in operating the production machines when needed.

Observes all Safety Rules and regulations and communicates any safety issues that need attention.

Follow up and assist operators in housekeeping duties to ensure a clean and safe work environment.
