Preferred Qualifications

Two (2) years of clerical experience preferred. Ability to communicate effectively with the public in handling inquiries and communicating information. Ability to develop knowledge of Community-Based services and as needed share these service provider contacts to benefit juveniles, their families and victims. Knowledge of word processing, current office management practices and the ability to learn how to use the Juvenile Justice Management System (JJMS).  Knowledge of grammatical rules, language usage and report formatting; the ability to organize and support office activities. Knowledge of the care and operations of standard office equipment and machines. Annually scheduled performance review; information conferences as required or requested. Works independently or groups with some discretion when needed. Must be able to work with non-incarcerated and incarcerated youth and their families. Some overnight travel for training as needed.  Must be able to drive and travel throughout the state.  Must be able to physically lift up to 25lbs. This position performs job duties relating to the custody, control, transportation, or recapture of juveniles within the jurisdiction of the Department of Juvenile Justice and the employee may have direct and direct contact with juveniles within the jurisdiction of the Department of Juvenile Justice. Training applicable to these duties will be provided.

Job Description:

Under general supervision plans, organizes and supervises administrative activities in an assigned County office.  Provides coordination and support for basic case management activities. Receives and screens all general office mail and calls, making appropriate referrals, personally solving problems as needed and answering questions that require knowledge of assigned County office. Types and uploads official correspondence for support of office activities and ensures compliance with format, verifying that grammar, spelling and punctuation are correct. Maintains a system for documenting walk-in referrals and managing contract, diversion and administrative supervision of youth as needed. Maintains inactive case files, according to agency policy and procedures and prepares files for archiving. Prepares statistical and office activity reports. Assists staff in preparing reports and assists in delivery and receipt of court paperwork as needed. Maintains records of purchases and equipment inventory logs. Participates in job-related training and workshops for professional growth. Performs other related duties as requested or required
