Requirements:

Must give testimony of saving faith in Jesus Christ, and evidence a strong, growing relationship with Him;

 

Must have a love for children and a desire to serve them and their families in the context of a local church;

 

Must be team-oriented and flexible, with a positive, ‘can-do’, spirit;

 

A bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred, but not required; 

 

Experience in children’s ministry is helpful, but not necessary;

Job Description:

Develops and directs comprehensive, robust, and age-appropriate ministries for children (birth through fifth-grade) with a view towards preparing and leading them to trust and follow Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior; 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

Assisting and encouraging parents as they provide the primary spiritual leadership in the lives of their children;

 

Enlisting, equipping, and supervising volunteers who will assist in all phases of children’s ministry;

 

Scheduling all volunteers needed for the safe and effective operation of all children’s ministry programming and events, including Sunday morning nursery, toddler, preschool and elementary ministries, and all on- or off-campus, non-Sunday morning children’s ministries;

 

Developing and implementing innovative strategies and ministries for reaching churched and unchurched children and families with the gospel of Jesus Christ; 

 

Maintaining the highest standards and best practices for child safety, volunteer screening, and facility / ministry-site cleanliness and safety, while providing a fun environment for growth and learning;

 

Handling all administrative and logistical aspects of the children’s ministry, including planning, organizing, recruiting, publicizing, implementation and follow-up; 

 

Developing annual budget proposals for children’s ministries, and operating all phases of these ministries within the adopted budgets;

 

Working with the Senior Pastor, ministry staff, administrative staff, and lay leadership in strengthening and furthering the overall mission and ministry of the church;

 

Handling any other duties assigned by the Senior Pastor, including, but not limited to, potentially maintaining and enhancing the church’s presence and visibility on social media;

Schedule:
Full weekly schedule, to include Sundays, and normally with two other full days off, with flexibility being paramount, as the Senior Pastor works with all staff members to help ensure a healthy work / home balance.
