About:
Fight poverty in Upstate South Carolina on our team of 20 and grow as a professional, gaining hands-on nonprofit experience. Our rapidly growing community is recognized with many accolades, but that hasn’t translated to improved conditions for all. Food and housing crises are compounded by systems that keep people from reaching economic independence. Our team members serve at a variety of partner organizations to overcome barriers, improve access, and create vibrant and equitable communities. Moving out of poverty is complex, a multi-year process that requires families to juggle maintaining their health, taking care of their kids, managing their money, gaining post-secondary education or credentials, and moving into a family-sustaining career – all at once. Our team will utilize Mobility Mentoring® practices to provide comprehensive support to families.
Benefits:
- $27,000 total allowance paid in bi-weekly $1,080 installments
- $6,895 education award
- Learn public speaking in our Toastmasters Club
- Grow as a professional at monthly training sessions on topics such as motivational interviewing, mental health first aid, and trauma-informed care
- Make lifelong friendships and networking connections through service and by participating in optional team social events
- Feel secure in your healthcare with included dental and vision benefits at no cost to you
- Receive reimbursement for miles driven for service (not including commuting)
- AmeriCorps income excluded from most federal benefits calculations
This is a great opportunity for recent graduates, veterans, retirees, career changers, or anyone interested in a career in the nonprofit field. We are committed to increasing the diversity of our Corps and strongly encourage qualified individuals of all backgrounds to apply.
