Wages/Salary: $30,257.28 per year
While employed as an EMT-Recruit, the candidate will be assigned to work 8-hour days, and 40-hour work weeks, while receiving close supervision by the Training Coordinator who will monitor the students’ progress throughout their training. The recruit will learn standard operating procedures, and will ensure conformance to all procedures. Upon successful completion of the EMT course, the recruit may be awarded a full-time EMT class title; dependent upon current staffing needs. Training will continue with a focus on emergency response.
EMT-Recruit is a trainee currently enrolled, or scheduled to attend a certified EMT course through an accredited program. The program will prepare the recruit for public safety work, with a focus on life saving skills. Each recruit will focus on their education, while receiving supplemental training through Greenwood County EMS. The recruit will learn, and be able to demonstrate the ability to utilize the approved emergency equipment carried on each unit.
