Requirements:

A bachelor's degree in engineering and one (1) year of entry-level engineering work experience;
or a bachelor's degree in engineering technology and three (3) years of entry-level engineering
work experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human
Resources Regulations.

Job Description:

Acts as Project Manager/Inspector on road and Bridge Projects. Under direction of the RCE,
inspects the placement of concrete curb and gutter, sidewalk, and other concrete roadway
structures; inspects the placement of asphalt on the roadway; inspects the installation of
drainage and sub bases on the roadway; performs inspection of miscellaneous roadway items;
performs all required sampling and testing of materials listed in the above duties. Operates
surveying equipment which includes EDM and level. Maintains accurate and legible survey
field notes. Performs duties of rodman or axman as necessary. Assists party chief with surveys
associated with all phases of road and bridge construction. Uses horizontal and vertical
alignments given on plans and programs then enter this information into the data
collector. Calculates all necessary grades for the construction of roadways and bridges.
Maintains projects records. Enters daily work reports for work inspected on assigned projects.
Performs EEO and wage regulation interviews. Performs weekly traffic and erosion control
inspections on assigned projects. Prepares monthly construction estimates. Coordinates utility
relocation. Coordinates the location of utilities on roadway construction projects with contractor
and utility companies. Coordinates and completes the project closeout process by ensuring that
the target dates are met for each requirement. Prepares as built construction plans for
archiving. Assists in training new employees for certification schools, required paperwork, and
site manager. Performs other related duties (engineering or office) as required.

Monday - Friday (8:30 - 5:00)
