Requirements:

Qualified candidates will have:

- Two Years Minimum College or Technical School in Engineering or Engineering Related Field
- Five Years Minimun Experience in a Metal Working Environment
- General understanding of machinery and their applications
- Physically fit, able to climb and not afraid of heights
- Proficient with computers, familiar with Microsoft Office programs
- Good drafting skills (Manual and CAD)
- Good Communications Skills, Verbal and Written
- Well organized and efficient, ability to manage multiple priorities
- Self-motivated, ability to work independently
- Ability to work overtime as required

Preferred candidates will have:

- Project Management Experience
- Working knowledge of construction and mechanical/electrical concepts

Job Description:

Schaeffler, a global automotive and industrial supplier, is seeking a Facilities Technician for our Plant 2 facility in Cheraw, SC. This role will provide support to the Plant Engineering Supervisor with all aspects of building construction and maintenance, site maintenance, production and support equipment purchase and installation and other duties as assigned; implement programs in safety, cost reduction, process improvement and environmental compliance; develop and maintain plant layouts and manage assets.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

- Work with and assist Plant Engineering Supervisor as needed
- Create production and facility layouts, update existing layouts
- Follow through with a given task (project) from inception to completion; complete projects on time and within budget
- Issue and track SAP Electronic Purchase Requisitions (EPR) as required
- Provide engineering support for environmental, health and safety processes and projects
- Provide engineering support for safety committees and facility maintenance
- Obtain quotes for competitive bids for production and support equipment and installation work
- Coordinate projects and activities through maintenance department as required
- Coordinate and implement engineered projects to support loss prevention and reduce Total Incident Rate (TIR)
- Maintain warehouse inventory documentation, assets/key and lock management program, and drawing/facility and equipment information files
- Coordinate projects/assets capitalization with Accounting
