Job Description:

Coordinates and performs professional accounting duties associated with the fiscal and programmatic responsibilities of the South Carolina Department of Public Safety (SCDPS) Grants Program. Receives all subgrantee Request for Payment documents. Analyzes and ensures reimbursements are based on assimilation of properly completed documentation with certifiable financial transactions. Approves financial calculations and compiles final reports for posting transactions in the South Carolina Enterprise Information System (SCEIS) by OHSJP Business Office staff members. Provides technical assistance to program staff and subgrantees on grant fiscal issues. Conducts financial monitoring of Highway Safety grants. Verifies equipment purchases and reviews internal financial records maintained by the subgrantee. Prepares reports. Monitors and reviews subgrantee award balances on a monthly basis. Conducts presentations at designated workshops and conferences. Assists other financial staff in the performance of day-to-day accounting and compliance activities associated with the Highway Safety Grant Program. Creates financial transactions in SCEIS essential to posting disbursements. Must have thorough knowledge of federal, state and local laws related to Federal grants. Must be able to give presentations at various state, local and national meetings and conferences. Experience with the South Carolina Enterprise Information System (SCEIS). Proficient with Microsoft Excel. Ability to interpret and analyze complex financial data, records and reports.
