EDUCATION &/or EXPERIENCE: Less than high school education or up to one month related experience or training on floor equipment or equivalent combination of education and experience. Custodial cleaning experience recommended. Completed all safety and task training certification.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read 2-3 syllable words, recognize similarities and differences between words and series of numbers. Ability to print clearly and speak simple

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Know how to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10?s and 100?s. Know the American measure of money, weight, size, length, shapes, distance and measures such as cups, pints, quarts, gallons, etc.

REASONING/ANALYTICAL SKILLS: Apply common sense knowledge to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Be able to deal with routine situations with only few or no changes. Recognize and understand safety signs and building warning systems. Understand safety requirements, understand & meet company handbook expectations.
Ability to learn the operation and care of vacuum cleaners and other janitorial equipment. Take care in the use of cleaning materials for different types of building surfaces. Work is routine & repetitive.

OTHER SKILLS: Ability to change tasks or assignments outside normal duties. Work in a team environment. Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Required to have a valid driver?s license, if driving own vehicle on business time or company vehicle. Will also be required to have proof of vehicle registration and insurance. Maybe required to be forklift certified.

Job Description:

SUMMARY: Keep assigned areas, such as office, commercial, industrial, or institutional building in clean and orderly condition. Work successfully with fellow employees & others.
Understand and follow instructions, both verbal and written. Explain how to complete a task, understand instructions using basic communication skills.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Include a combination of, but not limited to the following:

Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures. Stops at risk behavior of others and self
Work with other employees in a team to complete assignments.
Perform repetitive tasks.
Maintain clean work areas.
Follow all company procedures, policies, and rules.
Take direction and respond to supervision.
Talk with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner.
Fill in during staff shortages, such as in custodial, recycle, or maintenance.
Support shift lead in completing punch-list items.
Use proper personal protective equipment that is required for assigned tasks.
Present a professional appearance and conduct.
Understand customer service and satisfaction.
Understand reporting systems, and of the environment.
Examples of tasks include but are not limited to:
Mop floor, hallways, & stairs
Restroom cleaning
Strip & apply floor wax
Move chairs, tables, or other
Stock restrooms
Buff/polish floor furniture to clean
Window cleaning
Empty recycle boxes
Extraction (Wet/Dry)
Pick up trash
Carpet spotting
Restock supply cabinet/room
Wipe down sinks, partitions,
Transports floor
Clean upholstered furniture and stainless steel equipment, tools, etc.
Transports waste to proper
Polish metal & woodwork
supplies disposal areas
Remove cobwebs

40 hours weekly, 2nd/3rd and weekend shifts required, varying shifts
