My name is Bear Burson, I am the lead smith here at The Range At Austin. I am looking to hire 2 recent graduates of a gunsmithing school.

Currently we work a 5 day, 40 hr. week. Some weekends will be involved since we are an indoor range, retail store and gunsmithing/ manufacturing facility. After 1 year of employment you will receive 2 weeks of P.T.O. Starting pay will be at $15.00 an hr. Once a year there will be a review at which time you can expect either a pay raise or a "needs improvement" plan with a follow up review & raise if everything is back on track.

I am looking to hire 1 smith after the first of the year and a second smith sometime in the summer. They need to be well versed in all aspects of modern firearms. Sorry we don't do BP.

We have started manufacturing our own line of small frame AR's, ie. AR15. We should start our large frame AR's sometime in the spring.

My personal qualifications are as follows; Ran my own shop for 5 years doing custom work and general repair, worked under Ed & Doug Shilen @ Shilen Rifles for aprox 10 years, worked under Claudio Salassa for 10 years @ Briley Mfg.-Pistol Division, 1st chair smith @ STI International, Tripp Research under Virgil Tripp ( the "T" in STI and inventor of the2011), and now the lead smith @ The Range AT Austin.
