Requirements:

A 10th grade education; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations. A valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License. (NOTE): This position requires a valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License within six (6) months of placement in the position. However, applicants without a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License will be considered if no qualified applicants with a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License are available.

Job Description:

Trains to operate mowing equipment cutting shoulders and right-of-ways on interstate, primary and secondary roadways in Newberry County. Trains to operate 5 yard dump trucks in hauling equipment and materials to and from worksites. Performs follow-up trimming operations for mowing roads, such as trimming around guardrail, signs, and other roadway appurtenances. Performs other related duties as required for stand-by crew rotation, emergencies, snow-ice, and equipment operation requiring right-of-way debris removal. Performs other related duties
as requested or assigned by supervisor. Performs other related duties as required for normal daily operations such as flagging, workzone setup and take down, follow vehicle driving, and small power tool operation.
