Requirements:

A high school diploma plus one (1) year of experience with installation and configuration of hardware and/or software for personal computers and/or data communications equipment.
Knowledge of or familiarity with the following: 1) Software installation and configuration; 2) Installation and configuration of computers, printers, and peripheral devices; 3) Troubleshooting techniques and diagnostic tools. Must possess strong customer service orientation and good interpersonal communication skills. The employee must have a valid driver's license.

Job Description:

Provide normal business hours and "on-call" 24/7 technical assistance to users as needed of the local area network and Telecommunications Centers. Diagnoses and resolves system software and hardware problems.
Installs and configure personal computers, printers, and other peripheral devices. Performs general maintenance on equipment. Installs and terminates network cabling.
Participates in various short-term projects either as a participant or a team leader.
Assess user requirements and automation needs. Provides training to user on equipment and system software.
Adhere to established policies, procedures, and practices in the performance of assigned duties. Attends technician meetings, training sessions, and conferences.
Other duties (pertinent to the function, authority, and responsibility for the position) as assigned.
Incumbent could be expected to bend, stoop, squat, or stand on hard surfaces for approximately 50% of the time. Individual could be expected to lift and move equipment weighing between 20 and 80 pounds for approximately 25% of the time. The employee may be required to travel to remote sites within the state.
