Job Description:

Under general direction, the IT Support Specialist is responsible for the maintenance, and support of desktop computer hardware and related peripherals. Provides support for Windows and Mac operating systems and products. Works directly with the Managed Services Provider (MSP) regarding endpoints.  Maintains an accurate IT asset inventory; and manages the new user on-boarding/off-boarding and hardware refresh cycles.  Support of specialized software and hardware for a diverse range of staff that include both on-site and remote staff.  Primary contact for the MSP regarding on-site work or knowledge of specialized systems/software.  Provides basic guidance and training on hardware and software use for staff.   This role conducts research, analysis and evaluation of desktop hardware and software and maintains knowledge of the industry to be able to provide input that is used to make purchase decisions or set strategic direction. Performs related work as required.

I.     Position Responsibilities:  Essential 

  • Manage the deployment and recovery of hardware for staff on-boarding and off-boarding
  • Administer and maintain the PC/laptop imaging and setup process
  • Maintain an accurate inventory and asset tracking for all hardware including accessories, peripherals, and other items
  • Provide on-site and specialized software support for personal computer/laptop hardware and related peripherals.
  • Provide software and hardware support to a diverse range of staff including remote staff in-person or over the phone
  • Provide guidance and training to end-user community
  • Maintain knowledge of industry and provide input used to make purchasing decisions or set strategic directions
  • On-site during normal business hours
  • Occasional off-hour support may be required
  • Other duties as assigned
