High School diploma + 2 years work experience in law enforcement.
Must meet the requirements for certification as a State Constable and meet all requirements to complete a criminal justice background check pursuant to departmental policies, state requirements and all requirements as mandated by the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy. (SCCJA) Certification by the SCCJA in accordance with SC Code of Laws 23-23-40 or successfully meet the required standards to attend and successfully complete training at the SCCJA and receive certification as a Class I law enforcement officer.
In this challenging role, you will support the Campus Police department at Greenville Technical College. Duties may include any or all of the following.
Enforce state, county, and municipal laws. Obtain criminal arrest warrants and search warrants as required. Make criminal arrests. Patrol all campus campuses and properties ( Foot and vehicle). Detect and deter criminal activity. Respond to criminal and non-criminal complaints. Complete accurate criminal reports. Secure buildings, equipment and property belonging to GTC. Conduct criminal investigations, traffic accident investigations. Provide assistance to students, faculty/staff and visitors. Successfully complete required training by the state and the SCCJA to maintain certifications a Class I Law Enforcement Officer. Other relative duties as assigned.
