Requirements:

Responsible for all digital aspects of community collaborative economic and community development marketing, including digital, social media, website maintenance, advertising, public relations opportunities, and communication for all collaborative partners.

Handle routine requests for information, visitor traffic statistics, and manage database lists on computer, including all tour and event leads. Ensure that an adequate supply of brochures is always in stock in visitor’s center/front desk area. Assist visitors with directions in and outside of Greenwood. Handle all mailings and be responsible for various courier duties, including errands, checking mail, deliveries, etc. Create and maintain databases and spreadsheets.  Assist staff in the development of other publications such as the visitor’s guide, posters, flyers, and updating various websites as well as social media as determined by management. Assist in identifying and maintaining accurate listing of tourism-related facilities, festivals, and events of interest to visitors both in printed material and the website.

Keep management advised of the progress/status of projects to which they have been assigned.  

Screen visitors to control interruptions and assist with fielding phone calls.

Provide support by serving as liaison to Arts Center staff and their volunteer base by providing collateral, appropriate training and orientation, and coverage of the front desk when assigned.

Assist staff in coordinating activities and programs.

Maintain relationships with partners, including hotels, area attractions, and Uptown merchants. Will work in concert with Uptown Event and Market Coordinator to help promote and execute planned events.

Utilize various types of machinery and equipment including fax machines, computer, calculator, typewriter, copier, and general office supplies.  Proficiency with desktop publishing software is desired.

Assist staff with projects, reports, mailings, meetings, festivals/special events, and other duties that may arise. Other duties as assigned.

Job Description:

Under general supervision, the Marketing Coordinator will provide support functions for all Discover Greenwood operations and events.  This individual will meet and greet visitors and community representatives, maintain the Visitor’s Center and provide general administrative support to the Discover Greenwood Executive Director.  Assist staff with projects, reports, mailings, meetings, festivals/special events, and other duties that may arise.

Desired skills include knowledge of graphic design tools (Adobe Creative Suite), website maintenance software, Microsoft Office Prof., and database management.  Must possess the ability to multi-task effectively and meet deadlines.  An associate’s degree with 2-3 years of applicable work experience in a customer service or marketing profession.  Familiarity with Greenwood and the surrounding areas is preferred. 

This position reports to the Executive Director of Discover Greenwood.

Schedule:
M-F, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Some evening and weekend work required.
