Requirements:

A 10th grade education and two (2) years of work experience that is directly related to the area
of employment; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human
Resources Regulations.
A valid Class A Commercial Driver?s License (CDL). Note: This position requires a valid Class A
Commercial Driver?s License. However, applicants without a Class A Commercial Driver?s License
will be considered if no qualified applicants without a Class A Commercial Driver?s License is
available. Class A Commercial Driver?s License must be attained within six (6) months
of placement in the positions.
May be required to work overtime, nighttime, and/or weekends during hazardous
weather or emergencies.

Job Description:

Performs routine and general maintenance service on SCDOT vehicles and specialized
equipment assigned to Richland Maintenance. Bleeds brake systems by use of specializedequipment and adjusts brakes to ensure proper stops without pulling. Uses electrical systems
tester to diagnose alternator, regulator, and battery starter for proper functioning and ensures
specifications to voltage and amperage output and voltage and amperage draw are within
tolerance. Assists higher level technicians in repairs to carburetors, distributors, and
replacement of other components found by the use of highly specialized computerized testing
equipment. Responds to service calls concerning disabled equipment needing minor roadside
repairs. Maintains a safe and clean work area and ensures all work is done within OSHA and
DHEC compliance. Performs other related duties as required by supervisor.

Monday - Friday (8:30 - 5:00)
