Requirements:

A tenth (10th) grade education and three and one-half (3.5) years of work experience that involved the independent performance of job duties directly related to the area of employment;or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations.A valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required within six (6) months of placement in the position.

Job Description:

Under general supervision, performs skilled duties in the repair and maintenance of vehicles andequipment. Reads and interprets technical manuals, charts and parts manuals to plan work and select replacement parts. Troubleshoots, repairs and overhauls gasoline and diesel engines.Repairs and rebuilds automatic and manual transmissions in trucks and all heavy equipment.Repairs differentials, PTO's, power steering units, clutches, hydraulic brakes and chassis work.Repairs forklifts and jacks. Uses gas and electric welding/cutting to repair worn or broken
equipment. Manufactures broken or lost pieces. Manufactures special equipment and bodies. Repairs all trailers and performs maintenance on all equipment. Checks, adjusts and repairs air brakes and components. Rebuilds hydraulic systems and repairs hydraulic pumps, motors,cylinders and valves. Repairs small engines, generators, air compressors and steam cleaners.Troubleshoots electrical equipment. Works in uncomfortable positions for long periods of time. Work requires frequent bending, reaching, stretching, climbing, stooping, crouching, standing,
sitting, lying and lifting.

Schedule:
FTE - Full-Time Monday - Friday (8:30 - 5:00)
