Requirements:
Educational Requirements:
- Associate’s degree in paralegal studies, legal studies, or a related field; bachelor’s degree is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Paralegal certification from an accredited program is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of two years of paralegal or similar legal experience, with a focus on contract law or tax incentives, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Experience in government or economic development is highly desirable.
Special Certifications and Licenses:

Job Description:
Responsibilities include but not limited to: (full description on county website)
- Draft, proofread, and revise contracts, incentive agreements, resolutions, ordinances, and other legal instruments, ensuring accuracy, consistency, clarity, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Conduct thorough legal research and prepare memoranda on relevant laws, regulations, and case precedents.
- Assist in the preparation and management of litigation files, discovery materials, and court filings, ensuring all documents are error-free and properly formatted.
- Monitor compliance with local, state, and federal laws and tax policy affecting County operations and economic development projects.
- Perform due diligence, including researching property records, Secretary of State searches, and title reviews to support economic development projects.
- Support the preparation of grant applications and reporting documentation, ensuring all content is accurate and adheres to required guidelines.
- Coordinate with stakeholders, including developers, business owners, and government agencies, to ensure project compliance and facilitate smooth transactions.
- Coordinates FOIA requests with the County Attorney and the County Public Information Officer to ensure the proper handling of sensitive information.
- Assists in tracking and reporting FOIA requests and responses to maintain transparency and compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Occasional travel within the County, including attendance at public meetings or events outside of standard business hours.
