Minimum requirements include a High School Diploma accredited by an organization that is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or one of the entities recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or GED, a valid driver?s license and a minimum of two (2) years of mechanical experience (or related field) in a power plant or similar heavy industrial plant environment. Welding certification and/or welding experience are preferred. This position requires working outdoors, heavy lifting, climbing, working in confined spaces and the wearing of a respirator. This position is subject to working overtime, call-outs, emergency situations/conditions and occasional shift work. Experience in welding and the ability to become a certified welder is highly preferred. Machining skills is a plus. Knowledge or experience in flame cutting, pipe fitting, mechanical maintenance, mechanical problem solving and technical drawing interpretation is desired. This position requires working outdoors from potentially high elevations, heavy lifting, climbing and working in confined spaces. Incumbents will also be required to occasionally wear a respirator and maintain annual respirator requalification.
