Bachelor degree in Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

Working knowledge of chemical engineering, preferably in a chemical manufacturing environment.

Minimum of 1 year experience in the field of Distributed Process Control and Automation in chemical industry; 3-5 years preferred.

Possess good oral and written communication skills, interpersonal and teamwork skills, and the ability to communicate highly technical and non-technical information effectively throughout the production and support areas. Must be passionate about controls and automation.

Must be creative and possess a high degree of personal motivation and result orientation, have a sound technical approach to problem solving with a high level of learning ability, excellent planning and organizational skills.

Must be able to maneuver to all areas and levels of the plant, including confined spaces and heights up to six stories off the ground, and able to wear personal protective safety equipment and a respirator for emergency purposes.Must be a proficient level user of computer software packages, including MS Windows applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Internet Explorer, etc.) and various design software (e.g., AudoCAD, ASPEN, etc.).

Will be responsible for updating current system and overseeing operations of Delta V from DCS.

Must have experience in network configurations, networking, routers, firewalls and equipment**

RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide Technical expertise in the area process control in support of Operational Excellence, and provide expertise in diagnosing and correcting process control problems.
This position investigates, develops, and supervises process automation changes and modifications throughout operational areas which includes modifications to existing process control or adding new processes to improve safety, reduce plant operational costs as well as improve product quality and efficiency, in accordance with OE and Manufex fundamentals.
SHE: Review, understand, and observe SHE and security rules and regulations, and use appropriate procedures and protocols in accordance with state EPD regulations, corporate SHE requirements, and DCNA procedures.
Evaluate process control of the existing and new chemical processes and unit operations to improve operating efficiency and rate, product quality, on-stream factor and economy.
Develop and recommend new process control designs and/or modifications for assigned areas to ensure maximum operating efficiency, return on investment, safety, and compliance with emission control requirements.
Provide technical specifications and support at the site.
Prepare documentation to provide sufficient information for Project Engineering for detailed specifications for cost estimates and construction.
Provide daily automation engineering support to Production on operating problems and to maintenance/plant engineering on equipment performance and materials problems.
Execute RCA on major Automation interruptions.
Provide technical supports to other departments as needed.
Assist with updating of Business Continuity Plan and Disaster Recovery Plans as necessary.
