Requirements:

Minimum Requirements: Must be Lifeguard certified, must be CPR/ AED/First Aid certified. Expected to be professional, alert, courteous and diplomatic at all times. Must have strong skills in providing excellent customer service and demonstrate strong ethics. A valid driver's license and safe driving history are required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must be able to prevent accidents and minimize or eliminate hazardous situations. Respond quickly to all emergency situations. Administer any emergency first aid needed by a victim in an accident. Communicate with other lifeguards and facility staff the need for additional assistance or equipment. Observe and enforce all rules and regulations of the facility and educate patrons and inform them of the purpose and need for rules and regulation. Know and practice the proper emergency procedures for your area and complete all required records or reports on schedule and submit them to the proper person or office. Maintain the fitness level necessary to perform duties in an emergency. Be alert at all times and wear swim suit while on duty. Keep deck clear of debris and equipment and ensure all equipment is stored properly if not done prior to your shift. Check chemicals and water temperature at the beginning and end of your shift. No personal phone call, visitors or texting. 

Job Description:

The primary job of the Lifeguard is to protect and serve the Lander community at the Outdoor Pool. To ensure the safety of all our patrons by enforcing all policies and procedures. To keep the pool area clean and make sure all patrons follow policies.
