Wages/Salary: Agency Hiring Range: $24,059- $37,840
A 10th grade education and three and one-half (3.5) years of related trades experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations.
A valid Class A Commercial Driver?s License. (Note): This position requires a valid Class A Commercial Driver?s License. However, applicants without a Class A Commercial Driver?s License will be considered if no qualified applicants with a Class A Commercial Driver?s License are available. A Class A Commercial Driver?s License must be attained within six (6)
months of placement in the position. May be required to work overtime, nighttime, and/or weekends during hazardous
weather or emergencies.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in bridge construction, maintenance, and/or repairs. Experience in overhead and vertical welding, fabrication, carpentry, or concrete work.

Serves as a member of the District One Bridge Crew assisting crew members in performing skilled duties in the construction or maintenance and repair of bridges throughout the district. Skilled duties include but are not limited to bridge layout and pile installation, welding and fabrication, carpentry and concrete work, equipment assembly and operation, etc. Trains to operate tractor-trailer 5th wheel combination to transport materials and supplies to job site. Trains in overhead and vertical welding to obtain certification. Trains to fabricate pile installation equipment by use of oxygen-acetylene gas cutting equipment and electric-arc welding equipment. Trains to operate pile hammers, loaders, track-hoes, and other equipment used in the repair or construction of bridges. Assists in the assembly of crane and pile installation equipment. Assist in layout of bridge structure. Assists to place, vibrate, screen, and finish concrete when constructing pile caps. Performs carpentry work to construct scaffolding and concrete forms.
