Requirements:

A high school diploma and four and one-half (4.5) years of related trades experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations. A valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License. (NOTE): This position requires a valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License within six (6) months of placement in the position. However,applicants without a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License will be considered if no qualified applicants with a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License are available.

Job Description:

Supervises a crew of maintenance workers in clearing and cutting of road right-of-ways including the use of chain-saw, brush-chipper, heavy duty mowers and bucket truck type equipment. Coordinates crew and equipment, properly dispose of waste material. Mows as needed to ensure production. Inspects work performed by mowing crew. Serves as an on-call supervisor on a rotational basis to handle after hours emergencies. Performs required office work including completing daily supervisor's work report, keeping crew time sheets and leave slips current, inspects vehicles and equipment records of assigned equipment as well as the keeping of other supportive records. Enters data from Daily Work Report into HMMS program. Performs other related duties as required, including working emergencies. Supervises the preventive maintenance of equipment to ensure routine maintenance is performed and recorded to get maximum utilization of equipment. Evaluates jobs at location and determines work to be performed. Supervises and ensures a safe work zone for the mowing crew as in proper signage, wearing of safety equipment, and vehicle safety. Performs annual EPMS evaluations on subordinate employees.
