Requirements:

A high school diploma and four and one-half (4.5) years of related trades experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations.
A valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License. (NOTE): This position requires a valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License within six (6) months of placement in the position. However,applicants without a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License will be considered if no qualified applicants with a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License are available.

Job Description:

Supervises a crew of maintenance workers in digging out and backfilling bad areas in roadways in preparation for resurfacing and skim patching. Supervises and ensures a safe work zone for maintenance crew, as in flagging operations, wearing of safety equipment, vehicle safety, or when working with hazardous materials and waste. Produces daily records of work performed and materials used and enters information into HMMS. Supervises and inspects work including ditching, machining shoulders, patching, laying pipes and paving driveways and entrances. Performs annual EPMS evaluations on subordinate employees. Inspects roadway for deficiencies in shoulders, roadway surface, signs, vegetation, and drainage during routine day
and night inspections throughout the year. Supervises the preventative maintenance of
equipment to ensure routine maintenance schedule is followed and to monitor equipment use and wear to prolong equipment life. Supervises and coordinates crew in the removal of snow and ice from roadway and storm damage. Performs other related duties, including on call for after hour emergencies.
