AAHA-Accredited General Practice

Fear-Free Certified DVM, Low-Stress handling

3 day weekends every week!

Position available: skilled Licensed Veterinary Technician or LVT candidate-in-training; additial training as CCRP or CCRA preferred but not required. Full time preferred.   Position is in a small, primarily general practice with a growing physical medicine department.

Seven Oaks Animal Hospital is in search of a skilled, compassionate individual to join our client-centered practice. The successful candidate will become an integral part of our veterinary team, assisting the doctor with pet exams, radiography, surgical anesthesia, dental prophylaxis, and utilizing basic and advanced nursing/technical skills. Every member of the Seven Oaks team is expected to demonstrate strong communication and relational skills. We place high value on the Client/Pet experience. Ongoing staff education is a priority.

Job requirements:

*Commitment to daily EXCELLENCE in patient care, client communications, professional relations, and personal performance.

*Commitment to safe, fear-free animal handling. We can teach you these skills. Rough, aggressive handling of animals is strictly prohibited.  

*LVT/RVT (with current license) candidate in training

*Solid mastery of technical skills is strongly preferred.

*Flexible availability: Business hours are 7 am-6 pm Mon and Wed, 7 am-8 pm Tues and Thurs.

*Reliable personal transportation and reliable personal telephone are required.

*Must have a reliable phone number and means of receiving email communication.

*Team attitude and a drive to demonstrate excellence for every client and pet

*High level of integrity and ethical standards

*Attendance at weekly team meetings is required

*Professional level personal hygiene

*Mastery of the English language, including verbal and written communication.

*Ability to accurately follow directions and problem-solve

*Physical requirements: ability to stand, crouch, or kneel for extended periods of time. Ability to lift up to 50 lb. from floor to table height. Ability to restrain a pet at ground level or at table height for examination or procedures.

*Love of pets, especially cats and dogs. Respect for the human-animal bond. Willingness to learn and consistently utilize low-stress handling techniques.

*We are a strict drug free, tobacco free environment. All employees in all positions are subject to ongoing random drug testing.

*Computer skills:

-Proficiency in standard word processing applications, such as MS Word.

-Basic use of spreadsheet applications, such as MS Excel

-Basic use of touchscreen tablets, such as iPad and Droid-based systems

-Proficiency in social media and/or producing web content is a plus, but not required.

-Participation in basic hospital upkeep duties, which are shared among all team members.

Qualifications and Skills

2 yr. Degree

SC Veterinary Technician license (current) preferred

Schedule:
Monday-Thursday
Shifts may start as early as 6:45 am
Evening shifts on Tuesdays and Thursdays may end as late as 8:30 pm. 1 hour lunch breaks, additional afternoon breaks provided on longer shifts.
