Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with 2 years of current operating room experience.

Job Description:

In this challenging role, you will support the Surgical Technology department at Greenville Technical College. Duties may include any or all of the following:

-Coordinate and collaborate with course members to ensure that teaching-learning activities (including clinical patient assignments) meet course objectives.

-Maintain and encourage a safe learning and practice environment. Maintain knowledge and compliance with current policies and procedures (including CDC/OSHA) guidelines related to infection control and hazardous waste management.

-Use sound judgment in decision making related to student learning and patient safety in the clinical area.

-Demonstrate knowledge of current nursing theory and practice.

-Maintain professional relationships with healthcare agency staff, peers, clients, and their significant others and students.

-Maintain documentation of student progress in the learning process.

-Maintain confidentiality in all matters relating to students, clients, hospital personnel, and faculty.

-Serves as liaison between Greenville Technical College Surgical Technology faculty and the clinical agency.

-Lecture from the Core Curriculum. Demonstrate skills in the lab. Check student competency. Practice with students to perfect skills. Devise tests.

-Maintain office hours. Maintain student files. Lead career talks. Advise students. Supervise students in clinical. Assist the Department Head, as needed. Set up labs for demonstration. Enter grades into Blackboard.
