An associate degree and three (3) years of related financial experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations. A bachelor's degree with multiple accounting courses may be substituted for two (2) years of the required work experience.
Responsible for maintaining an insurance billing system, examines, analyzes and audits insurance transactions and electronic data for accuracy and to ensure compliance with State and Federal laws and regulations. Communicates with outside departments and agencies to resolve inconsistencies in transactions. Identifies problems and take corrective actions. Processes On-Line refund requests for overpayment of premiums due to coverage changes. Prepares semimonthly billing statements within the SCDOT's financial structure for employees
on leave without pay status. Prepares monthly Employee Group Insurance payment voucher for the billing of the agency's premiums.
