SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises Work of Others - Supervises work of others and may offer recommendations for hiring, termination and pay adjustments but does not have responsibility for making these decisions.
Provides administrative support for the Director of the CU Center for Human Genetics (CHG) and the College of Science Director of Faculty Excellence located at the Self Regional Hall, Greenwood. Acts as HR liaison and payroll administrator; manages and provides recruiting support for staff, post-docs and student hires. Other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:
40% - Essential - Administrative: Provides administrative support for the CHG Director and the Director of Faculty Excellence. Serves as confidential executive assistant to the CHG director. Serves as liaison between the directors, professional and administrative staff, college and university officials, alumni, and donors. Manages the directors' schedules, prepares confidential correspondence, coordinates meetings/events/seminars. Coordinates travel arrangements for directors, visitors, and students as needed. Prepares reports and minutes, as needed. Partners and collaborates with administrative staff from other units (e.g., G&B, Dean's Office) to ensure alignment and ongoing communication.
15% - Essential - Payroll Administration: Serves as payroll administrator handling all payroll functions for CHG personnel while ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and University rules and regulations. Processes, audits, and approves payroll. Coordinates with the CHG accountant/financial analyst and college budgetary personnel to ensure accurate accounts are used. Prepares reports and researches information as needed. Gathers information each semester for graduate student payroll and processes changes in timely manner. Manages summer payroll process. Makes payroll corrections as needed.
20% - Essential - Human Resources: Manages and provides recruiting, on-boarding and off-boarding support for the center; supports T-TT faculty cluster hire process. Completes all paperwork associated with hiring center personnel including visitors and speakers (i.e., manages international visa requests). Maintains confidential files for committees, personnel. Coordinates with Dean's Office and home department as needed on hiring, rehiring, and terminations for all positions. Supervises and manages direct reporting staff (e.g., student workers).
15% - Essential - Reception: Serves as the primary front desk support for CHG. Greets and assists visitors to main office. Places orders for office supplies, answers telephone, sorts and distributes mail and calls recipients of package deliveries to pick up in a timely manner.
10% - Essential - Office Management: Oversees CHG office operations at Self Regional Hall. Supports 0340 annual reviews. Submits facilities requests for repairs and telephone services, and follows up until completion. Coordinates website updates for the center.
