Requirements:

An Associate’s Degree or a high school diploma and 2 year’s related work experience. Selected positions may require the ability to type at a corrected rate of 35-55 wpm and/or basic knowledge of computer operations. Associate’s Degree with two years related clerical and accounting experience preferred. Customer service experience and advanced computer skills (power point, excel, publisher) as well as outstanding communication skills are also preferred.

Job Description:

Seeking an energetic and pleasant individual for the full-time temporary grant position of Administrative Specialist II for the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Program One Stop Career Center.
Serves as the front office greeter.
Performs administrative, secretarial and grant/accounting duties.
Assists customers with internet job searches, resume preparation, interviewing skills and positive self-image tips.
Disseminates information to inquiring customers on job search, interviewing, cover letter and resume preparation resources.
Performs informal counseling and acts as a referral source.
Schedules and assists in preparing employability workshop and class materials, bulletin boards (creates flyers, graphics, etc.)
Provides administrative support to the director and other One Stop Career Center staff.
Assists with WIA Grant budget expenditures utilizing excel.
Initiates purchase orders and maintains One Stop/WIA Program equipment, materials, supplies and other office needs.
Calculates and prepares monthly One Stop Reports for the Governing Board (LSCOG).
Assists director with Career Fairs, WIA recruitment promotions, graduate placement surveys and other employment related events.
Participates in meetings, outside training and other activities (travel may be necessary).
Responsible for the up-keep of the computer lab, job postings, printed resources, periodicals, DVD's and other materials.
Other duties as assigned.
