Wages/Salary: $32,000 annually
BA or BS degree in Athletic Training at time of employment. NATABOC Certification and eligibility for South Carolina state license. Must have CPR/ AED Ce1tification. Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work as a member of a sports medicine team., and knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. A valid driver's license and a safe driving history is required. Must have strong skills in providing excellent customer service and demonstrate strong ethics. Preferred Requirements: Master's degree. Demonstrated experience in intercollegiate athletics, particularly in injury prevention and rehabilitation. Advanced rehabilitation techniques such as: Graston, FMS, active release therapy, or other manual or IASTM methods. Experience in providing athletic training services to acrobatics and tumbling student-athletes Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must have the ability to communicate effectively with faculty, staff, and students. Must have understanding of methods and procedures for training athletes and working with injuries. Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations required, and a knowledge of a variety of sports. Ability to satisfactorily teach students in the classroom.
The Assistant Athletic Trainer position reports directly to the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine and will work within the framework of the Lander University Sports medicine team. This position assists in the daily operation and duties of the 2 Athletic Training Facilities. Team assignments will be acrobatics and tumbling and cheerleading and dance.
