Assistant Buyer

RESPONSIBILITIES:.
? Analyze sales data, market trends, and competitive landscape to identify merchandise opportunities:
? Work with the Creative team to develop customer facing product communications including email, website promotions and catalog.
? Source and develop new product concepts to the Buyer;
? Work with Fulfillment Center on Vendor issue
? Collaborate with Inventory Management:
? Develop pricing strategy with product manager.
? Manage vendor performance and maintain relationships:
? SKU and Image maintenance in Sigma Commerce and Kalio:
PRIMARY CONTACTS:
? Buyer and/or customers and suppliers for product development, quality and technical characteristics.
? Buyer and suppliers for new product development.
? Inventory Planning for new product, inventory levels, availability and status.
? Purchasing for vendor quotes, product issues and samples.
? Marketing team for product presentation, promotions, advertising and media.
? Vendors for product-related issues, pricing/costing information and discrepancies, new item introductions, updates on current items, promotions, return to vendor discos, terms negotiations, etc.
SPECIFIC JOB SKILLS:
? High level use of MS Office Products, including Excel, Word, Publisher and Outlook.
? Experience with an ERP system (Windows based and/or character based).
? Highly detail oriented with the ability to work independently.
? Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
? Ability to negotiate, think big picture and ?out of the box?.
? Balance conflicting and multiple tasks; problem-solving skills mandatory.
? Skilled at time management and delivering projects on time and on budget.
