Master's degree in student personnel services, higher education, guidance, counseling, or related area, and three years of experience in student services or related work, preferably in housing and residence life. Previous supervisory responsibility and management of resident assistant staff preferred. Computer proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office is required. Banner experience preferred. Must have strong skills in providing excellent customer service and demonstrate strong ethics. A valid driver's license and safe driving history are required.
The Assistant Director of Housing and Residence Life assists in the administration of the Lander University Housing and Residence Life Program under the supervision of the Director. Supervises three fulltime Residence Life Coordinators and oversees the operation of nine residence halls with approximately fourteen hundred beds. Responsible for residence hall facility management and serves as liaison for offices across campus corresponding regarding student housing concerns. Manages summer use of Residence Halls for camps and conferences. Provides counseling to students on a variety of issues related to residence hall living. Assists parents and students with any concerns in regard to student housing.
