A high school diploma; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human
Resources Regulations.
Assists with inspection of all phases of construction work to include pipe and gutter installation, grading base, drainage, catch basins, curb, foundation, concrete, and asphalt inspections. Assists
inspector in note taking. Trains in all areas of construction to include asphalt, concrete,
earthwork, foundations, pavement preservation, and erosion control. Assists in measuring for
quantities of grassing, concrete, asphalt, etc. Performs basic calculations on areas, earthwork
quantities, and length of pavement markings. Assists inspectors in obtaining necessary
construction samples. Duties include obtaining materials samples to be tested, filling out sample
cards, and performing some test under direct supervision. Assists in the checking of base depth
and grade. Prepares site manager daily work reports and enters pay items for monthly
construction estimates and final estimates. Performs other duties as assigned.
