A high school diploma and two (2) years of experience that is directly related to the area of employment; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations. A valid Motor Vehicle Operator's License.

Job Description:

Performs physical road asset inventories and gathers data for the roadway asset program to maintain program up-to-date and accurate information. Gathers data that is required for maintenance contracts including sidewalk repair, culvert repair, crossline pipe repair, right-ofway clearing, shoulder widening, herbicide spraying, and bridge repairs as requested by the District Office. Gathers information for monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports along with compiling information for long range maintenance plans. Hosts and assists with preconstruction conferences on large projects to ensure applicants are aware of what is expected of them during construction. Inspects work on all permits in progress to ensure compliance with permit specifications, including proper location, depth, placement of warning signs and lights, and proper cleanup. Investigates requests for encroachment on work affecting state highways from property owners, public utilities and government agencies by inspecting requested locations to ensure proposed work will not have adverse effect to state highways. Provides technical assistance to maintenance crews constructing catch basins, concrete curb, gutter, sidewalk and drainage pipe. Recommends and/or writes for work to be performed on state highway right-ofway by assisting applicants with sketches and listings of proper special provisions. Assists in the investigation of complaints and work orders, securing right-of-way information for property owners, and land surveyors. Performs inspections on maintenance contracts including curb and gutter sweeping, bridge sweeping, and chemical limbing. Conducts First Aid/CPR training for unit employees. Updating data in the Environmental Management System which includes the monthly inspection checklist, monthly audit checklist, and UST reports.

FTE Full-Time: Monday - Friday (8:30 - 5:00)
