Associate?s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school preferred.
3 to 5 years work experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job Description:
Provides secretarial and administrative support to the Mayor, City Administrator, and Department Heads. Acts as a receptionist to incoming callers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Serves as the City?s central telephone operator. Directs calls, answers questions, and takes messages.
2.Provides secretarial and administrative support to the Mayor, City Administrator, City Council Members, and Department Heads.
3.Prepares a variety of reports, letters, proclamations, and resolutions to support City activities. Maintains related files and records.
4.Maintains appointment schedules for the Mayor and City Administrator. Follows ? up on appointments, sets up meetings, contacts the media and photographers as required.
5.Prioritizes mail for the City Administer and the Mayor.
6.Prepares and posts the City?s bulletin boards daily, maintains the City?s website and all social media accounts.
7.Prepares daily bank deposits for the City Clerk/Treasurer.
8.Orders and maintains the City?s office supply needs and schedules maintenance on equipment. Meets with sales representatives as needed.
9.Reviews local newspapers for articles or information about the City. Prepares scrapbook of articles.
10.Coordinates events such as Legislative Action Day, MASC annual meeting, National Day of prayer, United Way campaign, Christmas tree lighting, and Bryson middle school visit.
11.Coordinate the Mayor?s citizen of the month. Create and maintain list of candidates, contact selected candidate and arrange for them to attend council meeting, order and pickup plaque, compose candidate profile, take pictures and send to Tribune and Sentinel, post to Facebook and website.
12.Post job openings internally and externally and maintain the EEO questionnaire.
13.Post RFP/RFQ on the website, City Hall window, SCBO, Greenville news.
14.New employee badges, email setup, and photos for time tools
15.Send employee birthday cards and acknowledge anniversaries. Send get well and sympathy cards to people in the community.
16.Performs related duties as required.
