Wages/Salary: $14.58 per hour. Employees in this position are eligible for benefits, holiday pay and earned leave. If the organization so chooses, upon successful completion of educational program employee may be converted to permanent GS-05 Clerical Assistant.
Must have a High School Diploma or GED Equivalent. Must be a US citizen. Currently enrolled in, and in good academic standing, at an institution of higher education.
You will also be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (Knowledge, skills, and abilities) in the following areas:
General knowledge of computer skills and familiarity with varying software programs. Ability to Communicate Orally and in Writing. Skill in Applying Attention to Detail.
Personnel security investigation required. Valid State Driver’s License. Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
Hartwell Lake is part of the Savannah River Basin. Along with Lake Russell and J. Strom Thurmond Lake Hartwell is part of a system that serves as a major flood control project, while generating clean renewable energy. This position serves as a Student Trainee with the purpose to provide clerical and administrative support to the office in facilitating work accomplishment. The incumbent performs office automation and clerical duties utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel, etc. Major duties such as time keeper and travel clerk require the utilization of CEFMS (Corps of Engineers Financial Management System). Incumbent also maintains file directives, administrative and/or technical guides/references, and office materials or publications as required.
