Wages/Salary: $52,000 – $60,000 annually
Bachelor's degree in Accounting. Five years of relevant work experience in professional-level accounting or financial management. Working knowledge of FASB Standards and two years experience in preparing a complete financial statement and footnotes package finalized for auditors. Experience working in accounting with a university or college preferred. Experience preparing consolidated financial statements for a university or college Foundation or not-for-profit organization preferred. Designation as a Certified Public Accountant is strongly preferred. Knowledge of the Banner ERP system or similar ERP system preferred. Must have strong skills in providing excellent customer service and demonstrate strong ethics. A valid driver's license and safe driving history.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Comprehensive knowledge of FASB Standards. Knowledge to prepare GAAP based financial statements. Strong attention to detail and deadlines. Ability to analyze and interpret related financial data including reconciliation of investment activity. Ability to communicate effectively and make presentations to the Lander Foundation Board of Directors and other groups. Must possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills and work as a team member. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Access.
This position serves as the accountant for University Advancement and the Lander Foundation, responsible for financial reporting and accounting for those areas. The position prepares financial statements in accordance with FASB, GAAP, and other applicable guidelines. Also, the position requires analyzing receipts and disbursements and serving as a backup for the accounts payable function. The accountant is responsible for preparing complete financial statements and footnotes package for external auditors. Responsibilities also include preparing the annual Lander Foundation budget for Board approval. Manages Lander Foundation cash and investments and communicates with financial institutions. Prepares and responds to reports and surveys as needed.
