A BACHELOR'S DEGREE IN ENGINEERING; OR A BACHELOR'S DEGREE IN ENGINEERING
TECHNOLOGY AND TWO (2) YEARS OF RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE; OR AN APPROVED
ACCEPTABLE EQUIVALENCE IN ACCORDANCE WITH STATE HUMAN RESOURCES REGULATIONS.
A VALID MOTOR VEHICLE OPERATOR'S LICENSE.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Supervisory Experience.

Job Description:

Under general supervision, performs project engineer duties on complex road and bridge construction projects. Supervises a staff of technicians to ensure proper inspection in compliance with plans and specifications. Ensures proper testing and sampling performed on construction projects for materials. Coordinates work between SCDOT personnel, contractors, utility companies, and the public. Assists the Resident Construction Engineer on routine assignments. Assists with the coordination and planning of work for inspectors and survey parties. Supervises and ensures that all field measurements and quantities are obtained to prepare final construction plans and quantities. Prepares and reviews daily and monthly reports for accuracy. Performs other related duties as required.
