Requirements:

A bachelor's degree in engineering and one (1) year of entry-level engineering work experience; or a bachelor's degree in engineering technology and three (3) years of entry-level engineering work experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations.

Job Description:

Serves as District Coordinator and Manager of HMMS, which includes but is not limited to producing and reviewing reports, ensuring data is accurate and providing technical assistance to county offices. Assists district staff with planning, development, budgeting, inspection and management of maintenance contracts. Contracts may include but not limited to guardrail repair and installation, mowing, chip seal, resurfacing, full depth patching, ADA handicap ramp installation, sidewalk projects, pavement markings, catch basin repairs, and IRVM projects. This work shall include gathering of data for projects, preparing submittal packages, inspection of work and payment of work through either site manager or procurement. Conducts training classes and provides technical assistance for county office personnel on use of HMMS, CBES, and other computer applications. Acts as inspector to ensure that operations on maintenance projects are in compliance with current OSHA, DHEC, and SCDOT standards. Performs routine inspections of erosion control measures on maintenance projects and documents findings and corrective actions needed when necessary. Utilizes microstation, ITMS, PPMS, Internet,Intranet, Sitemanager, SCEIS to obtain data for accurate reports. Prepares monthly and quarterly reports and correspondence. Maintains District Roadway Assets Inventory database to ensure information is up to date and accurate. Gathers and compiles data for monthly "Secretary" and "Commission" reports for P.E. to review and certify. Compiles data and performs QC/QA on information to be included in monthly and quarterly reports. Performs other related duties as necessary. Conducts pre-construction conferences when necessary. Assists district shift supervisor during emergency or inclement weather situations.

FTE Full-Time, Monday - Friday (8:30 - 5:00)
