Requirements:

An associate's degree and one (1) year of experience in entry-level accounting or bookkeeping;
or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations.

Job Description:

Performs the treasury function for the agency. Serves as agency cashier in the issuance of cash
receipts and the preparation of bank deposits and other related documents for the state highway fund, non-federal aid highway fund, special deposits fund, toll fund and county
transportation trust fund. Enters receipts into the financial system, reconciles daily entry to
reports, and works with accounts receivable personnel to reconcile discrepancies and correct
problems. Prepares State Treasurer Deposit slips on a daily basis and prepares deposit for
Wachovia Bank. Works with State Treasurer's office to reconcile any differences. Assists in
answering questions on outstanding deposit items, and contacts offices to obtain appropriate
documentation for deposits. Prepares and mails correspondence required to collect bad checks,
and researches checks with no documentation to properly record in the financial records.
Gathers required information to turn unpaid debts over to the Department of Revenue for the
Debt Offset Program.
