Requirements:

A 10th grade education or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with state Human
Resources Regulations.
A valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License. (NOTE): This position requires a valid Class "A"
Commercial Driver's License within six (6) months of placement in the position. However,
applicants without a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License will be considered if no qualified
applicants with a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License are available.

Job Description:

Trains to operate mowing equipment tractor mower (sickle/rotary) cutting shoulders and right-ofways
on interstate, primary and secondary roadways in Newberry County. Trains to operate dump
trucks hauling equipment and materials to and from worksites. Performs follow-up-trimming
operations for mowing roads, such as trimming around guardrail, signs, and other roadway
appurtenances. Performs related duties as required for stand-by crew rotation, emergencies,
snow-ice, and equipment operation such as plow, loader, or spreader, requiring right-of-way
debris removal. Performs other related duties. Performs related duties as required for normal
daily operations such as flagging, work zone setup and take down, follow vehicle driving, and
small tool operations.
