Requirements:

A 10th grade education; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations. A valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License. (NOTE): This position requires a valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License within six (6) months of placement in the position. However, applicants without a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License will be considered if no qualified applicants with a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License are available.

Job Description:

Performs duties in the repair and preventive maintenance on district bridges using welders, gas powered and electric tools and equipment such as skid steer. Assists/trains to perform manual labor in the repair of timber bridge piles to include the use of hand tools for digging out around piling, pouring concrete footings, cutting piles, and placing sway braces. Trains to operate dump trucks in hauling material and equipment to job sites. Trains to operate dump trucks with sand spreader and snow plow attachment. Performs duties using manual labor, in such maintenance
tasks as clearing of right of ways, cleaning drainage ditches, repairing shoulders, patching potholes, paving driveways, and laying sideline/ crossline pipe. During roadway maintenance and repairs, sets up signs and performs flagging operations at job sites to safely direct traffic through work zone around workers and equipment. Performs other related duties as required.
