A high school diploma and clerical or administrative experience. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required work experience. Ability to maintain confidentiality, and apply discretion in handling private information. Knowledge of software packages to include word processing and spreadsheets, and exposure to database software.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
A bachelor's degree with experience in the State HR environment. SCEIS time management and NEOGOV experience preferred.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
Position works afternoons; occasional morning work may be required for events.
Assist the Human Resources Department with various human resources functions. Perform administrative duties to include answering phones, filing, and data entry. Facilitate the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) program to include processing paperwork from request to approval. Serve as agency time administrator ensuring that all working time is entered and accurate in the South Carolina Enterprise Information System (SCEIS). Monitor and maintain leave records including holiday compensatory time and other compensatory time. Enter data and maintain training database. Maintain EEO data and track information entered into NEOGOV. Assist with HR and Administration division projects as needed. Attend job fairs and educational outreach events as needed; assist with agency employee meetings, events and benefits. Assist with administrative work in policy and procedure development, and classification and compensation.
