Wages/Salary: The pay rate is $16.58 per hour.
Students must be currently enrolled and pursuing an Associates? degree in Engineering or Industrial Technology with an emphasis in either Electrical, Electronics, or a Mechanical discipline and be willing to commit to a 3-month summer work schedule. Positions are available in Beech Island SC, Hardeeville SC, Cope SC or Charleston SC. A minimum 2.5 GPA is required.
Students may perform a variety of duties related to the operation of Fossil Hydro generating plants. Duties may include: assisting in the electrical, mechanical or controls maintenance of the generating unit at the assigned location. Students will work with qualified journeymen experienced in the maintenance of the power plant equipment. Ability to work with drawings, prints, CAD systems, etc. is a plus. Additional duties might include working with Operations to understand and assist with the operation of power plant equipment. Successful candidate must have the ability to work with in a physical environment involving climbing, bending, lifting of power plant equipment.
Students must be available to work after hours, scheduled overtime and call out work as required.
The students will have an opportunity to participate in our 401K savings program. If their commute is greater than 50 miles to the jobsite, they may also be eligible for a housing stipend.
