Minimum Requirements: A bachelor's degree in information technology systems, computer science, or related field and experience in information technology systems or related area. Relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis. Must have strong skills; in providing excellent customer service and demonstrate strong ethics. Valid driver's license and safe driving history are required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of fundamental computing and networking methodologies and technologies. Knowledge of networking needs in a virtual environment. Strong planning and project management skills. Ability to troubleshoot problems. Strong interpersonal, communication, and technical skills. Knowledge of local and wide area networking, firewalls, switches, wireless technology, and internet protocols. Must be able to prepare reports and detailed computer specifications for purchases. Ability to establish effective working relationships with faculty, staff, and students.
Description: Under limited supervision, completes network work orders. Provides network support through configuration, deployment, and maintenance of wireless access points and network switching. Ensures network closets are up to established standards. Supports the campus network in the event the network administrator is unavailable.
Position Work Hours: 37.5 hours per week.
