Education, prior work experience, specialized skills and knowledge required:
- AA Degree in Industrial Electronics Technology, Mechatronics Technology or comparable discipline; or equivalent work experience.
- Be proficient in pneumatics and hydraulics
- Knowledge of high vacuum systems

- Demonstrated communication skills-verbal and written

Summary of duties and responsibilities:
Perform mechanical and electrical installations and repairs to all plant related equipment.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Comply with plant safety rules and housekeeping
- Assess mechanical/electrical work orders and make repairs without assistance
- Maintain heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems
- Maintain boilers, cooling towers, and chillers
- Maintain ball mills, spray dryers, and baghouses
- Maintain extruders, ovens, and presses
- Maintain various grinders, manual machining, and CNC equipment
- Maintain kilns and furnaces
- Maintain miscellaneous automated and semi-automated production equipment
- Maintain miscellaneous support equipment (fans, pumps, blowers, etc.)
- Maintain facility electrical systems
- Maintain facility lavatories, building and grounds
- Installation/demolition of electrical conduit/wiring
- Installation/demolition of mechanical piping systems (copper, black pipe, galvanized pipe, CPVC for example)
- Perform rebuilds on production and building equipment
- Perform general construction/demolition as needed
- Maintain fire protection systems and correct deficiencies
- Maintain facility security systems and correct deficiencies
- Operate machining equipment for equipment repairs
- Welding of steel, cast iron, and aluminum
- Specify and order repair parts as needed
- Assist with management of hazardous waste streams/spills when Environmental Technician not available to assure RCRA and South Carolina Hazardous Waste Regulations are upheld
- Performs other related duties and assignments as required
- Utilize CMMS to capture/track/analyze equipment breakdown history and maintain parts inventory
