Minimum Training and Experience: A Bachelor's Degree in accounting, business or finance, two years of general or governmental accounting experience and two years of experience as an Office Manager OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is a must. Knowledge of Munis software is a plus.
The Greenwood County Facilities Maintenance and Planning Department are currently recruiting for a highly qualified Office Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate, who will be responsible for a diverse set of administrative tasks, must perform those tasks with professionalism, decisiveness and accuracy. A strong background in accounting is preferred. The person in this position will report directly to the Director of Facilities Maintenance and work closely with the Treasurer's office and multiple other County departments. Must be well organized, flexible and enjoy the administrative challenges of supporting an office of diverse staff in a busy environment. Excellent communication, problem-solving and prioritization skills are critical.
Essential functions of the Office Manager position include but are not limited to: preparing and entering journal entries, purchasing, reconciling bank statements to general ledger, communicating with Treasurer on budget, expenses, revenues, grants, assets, inventory and software, assisting in preparing financial statements, annual reports and budgets, recording County grant activity, accounts payable, preparing reports, personnel action forms, assisting with payroll and understanding and abiding by all policies and procedures.
